Defining Our Generation (and our facility)

The Resource Committee of the Franklin United Methodist Church has been hard at work assessing our facility needs and dreaming about what ministry could look like in a well-maintained, renovated, and restored space. We stand at a pivotal moment in our congregation’s history. Our facility needs work. It will take all of us working together to accomplish it; and, we need your input as we try to think creatively about how to restore and renovate our building so that it can meet the needs of our community and create space for future generations to “experience meaningful relationship with God, grow in Christ, and reach out in love to others.”

Below you will find a presentation–originally offered on Sunday, May 21, 2023–that details a brief history of our facility, its needs, and some ideas for how we can begin to address them. It also details next steps–a feasibility study and mandate. You will also find below a handout for the presentation which includes a “case statement,” notes from a recent facility walk-through, and initial design ideas to increase accessibility, bathrooms, and utilization of the facility. The final link is to download slides from the presentation.

If you have any questions about the presentation or next steps, please email Pastor Jacob.
