Community @FranklinUMC // Impact Summary, Grant Report

Just over a year ago, the Franklin United Methodist Church began to rethink its outward, community-facing programs. In May of 2024, Community @FranklinUMC was officially launched; and, in June 2024, we received our first grant from The United Methodist Foundation of New England in the amount of $5,000. Our grant period is now up. Below is the “Impact Summary” we prepared to illustrate how we used the grant money and the impact it had in our community. Spoiler: we accomplished a lot!

The work we have done in the past 12 months, with the financial support of The United Methodist Foundation of New England and the volunteer support of the larger Franklin community, is nothing short of amazing. Thank you for the many ways you’ve built and strengthened our shared community through your participation in the Community Closet, Concerts, and Cookouts.

As we look toward the future, we are proud to announce that The United Methodist Foundation of New England has awarded the Community @FranklinUMC another $5,000 grant which will, among other things, go to support no less than 10 Community Concerts in the Fall of 2025 and Spring of 2026. We look forward to making an announcement in the coming weeks with details about the Fall series, including concert dates and local musicians that will be performing.
