Join us in dialogue and discussion, Wednesday at 7 pm EST, as we look at “The Opening” from Who Do We Choose to Be? Facing Reality, Claiming Leadership, Restoring Sanity (Oakland, CA: Berrett-Koehler, 2023) by Margaret J. Wheatley.
The dialogue and discussion will happen in person virtually using Google Meet. To join, go to https://meet.google.com/txp-ndfa-ivu, or call 1-440-467-1448, the PIN is 220 679 745#.
The discussion guide, prepared by Pastor Jacob, for this week’s gathering, can be found below.
This dialogue and discussion is not a Bible Study, nor is the book explicitly Christian. Wheatley is writing to anyone looking to make a positive impact in the world around them. She challenges all of us to face reality, claim leadership (our sense of authority), and restore sanity in a world that is too often chaotic. All are welcome to participate.
You do not have to own a copy of the book to participate in the conversation, but it is recommended. We are reading the second edition of the text published in 2023.
If you’d like to hear a Christian perspective on these themes, Pastor Jacob is preaching through the book on Sunday mornings. You can find his reflections on “The Opening” and Judges 24:1-14 here.
