The Community Closet has been extremely successful and busy over the last few months. Our Fall Fashion Fling was an incredible success during the Harvest Festival. We have started opening up, on occasion, for the groups that meet at the Franklin UMC. We are open to the public for shopping on the first and third Tuesdays from 11a-1p. We have volunteers sorting donations on the second and fourth Tuesdays from 11a-1p. We open for private shopping by appointment. And, we are considering the possibility of opening the Closet during the weekend. This expansion of hours is fully dependent upon the availability of volunteers.
Volunteers Needed!
The Community Closet can use your help. Volunteering is a great way to meet and serve your neighbors. We are looking for volunteers to…
- help sort clothes on Monday, November 4 from 9a-12p (or whenever you can make it within that time). We received many donations recently. They need to be sorted. We’re also still making room for all the fall/winter donations. You can signup to help on November 4 here.
- help carrying bags of clothing out of the building on Wednesday, November 6 from 8:45a-10a. Donations that can’t be used in the Closet are passed along to others and/or recycled by Helpsy. We need help hauling out bags of clothes for Helpsy to pickup. You can signup to help haul bags on November 6 here.
In addition to the opportunities listed above, we need help on regular sorting and shopping days. You can signup to volunteer on these days by going to franklinumc.org/volunteer.
