The Closet, a Concert, and a Cookout || August 2024

Community @FranklinUMC is a community-building outreach of the Franklin United Methodist Church, located at 82 West Central Street, Franklin (MA). It is an opportunity for people to meet, serve, and share with their neighbors. As we meet, serve, and share with our neighbors, we build community together. You can signup to volunteer for these opportunities (and more) by going to franklinumc.org/volunteer.

Here are several of the opportunities coming up in the month of August (2024)–the Closet, a concert, and a cookout.

The Community Closet @FranklinUMC collects and distributes new and gently used clothing, free of charge, to anyone and everyone in the community. The Closet will be open Tuesdays, August 6 & 20, from 11a-1p, and by appointment.

Donations of gently used clothing and shoes are being accepted. With back to school happening this month, we are most in need of children’s clothing (all sizes). Donations can be dropped off inside the main entrance of the church (82 W. Central Street, Franklin). Download the flyer to learn more.

Community Concerts @FranklinUMC provides an opportunity for Franklin-area musicians an opportunity to share their talents with the community. On Friday, August 9, at 7pm, Lola Richardson will be performing on piano and flute. The concert space is air conditioned. To learn more about Lola, click here.

The Community needs volunteers. It needs people willing to invest their time to build up the community by serving and sharing with their neighbors. To learn about ways you can volunteer and donate your time, go to franklinumc.org/volunteer. This is a great way to serve your community and help it grow! If you need verification of community service hours, this can be provided. If you’d like to volunteer, but are a little nervous, have questions, or would like to do so in a way not listed, please reach out to Pastor Jacob.
