Join us in dialogue and discussion, Wednesday at 7 pm EST, as we look at Chapter 3, “Information,” from Who Do We Choose to Be? Facing Reality, Claiming Leadership, Restoring Sanity (Oakland, CA: Berrett-Koehler, 2023) by Margaret J. Wheatley.
The dialogue and discussion will happen in person virtually using Google Meet. To join, go to https://meet.google.com/txp-ndfa-ivu, or call 1-440-467-1448, the PIN is 220 679 745#.
The discussion guide, prepared by Pastor Jacob, for this week’s gathering, can be found below.
If you have some extra time, check out “Solving Complex Problems Relying on Diversity and Inclusion: An ancient process of discernment that leads to sane and unified actions” by Margaret Wheatley and Geoff Crinean. Wheatley speaks of this process in her book. This articles goes into more depth about it.
This dialogue and discussion is not a Bible Study, nor is the book explicitly Christian. Wheatley is writing to anyone looking to make a positive impact in the world around them. She challenges all of us to face reality, claim leadership (our sense of authority), and restore sanity in a world that is too often chaotic. All are welcome to participate.
You do not have to own a copy of the book to participate in the conversation, but it is recommended. We are reading the second edition of the text published in 2023.
If you’d like to hear a Christian perspective on these themes, Pastor Jacob is preaching through the book on Sunday mornings. You can find his reflections on “Information” and John 18:33-38.
