Flooring Update & Alt-Worship on 9/1

Dear Franklin UMC members and friends,

One of the projects of our Phase II Capital Campaign was to refinish the sanctuary. Earlier this year, we repaired the sanctuary ceiling and painted the walls. This week, we refinished the hardwood floors and replaced the carpets on the main floor of the facility. The floors look gorgeous! But, they aren’t all done. As a precautionary measure, we allowed the floors in the sanctuary to cure for an extra day before moving pews back into the sanctuary. This delay delayed the refinishing of the vestry floors which will be completed on Saturday (but will need two days to dry and cure). Carpets in the chapel and bell tower will be installed on Tuesday.

Alternative Worship Plans for September 1, 2024

We will continue to meet for worship on Sunday, September, 1 at 10a; however, we will be worshipping outside. Limited seating will be available. The order of worship will be slightly altered.

In case of rain or if its wet outside, we will meet in the sanctuary. in the event that we are inside, please know that due to delayed work, we have not been able to thoroughly clean the sanctuary. It will be a little dusty; and, some of the furniture from the vestry is in the sanctuary. Things will be a little disordered. There will also be a lingering smell in the building.

We will make every effort for there to be a hybrid option for worship. It may not be fully up to our regular standards, but we will do our best to include everyone in Sunday’s worship. Use the previously posted bulletin and links for the Google Meet and YouTube livestream.

Please note: the vestry continues to be closed to all foot traffic; therefore, the main floor bathroom is inaccessible. The only bathroom available on Sunday, September 1, will be in the basement accessible only by stair.

We apologize for this inconvenience.
We thank you for your patience.
We hope to see you in worship this Sunday–Inside, outside, or online!

Peace.
Pastor Jacob
