Dear members and friends of Franklin United Methodist Church,
This weekend is full of opportunities to connect. There’s a cookout on Saturday and a baptism and ice cream social on Sunday. I wanted to make sure that you knew what was going on so that you could make plans to participate! Here are the details.
Saturday, September 24, we’re hosting FREE Community Cookout. Food is served from 5:30-6:30pm. There will be free burgers, hotdogs, chips, and drinks. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Metal folding chairs can be provided, if you forget or don’t have one. Please help promote this event by marking “interested” on the Facebook Event page (link here). RSVPs are not necessary.
Sunday, September 25, during worship at 10am, we will be welcome a new child into the family of faith through baptism. We will also be starting a new worship series entitled “Our Legacy,” where we’ll be looking at the history of the church and how that history can speak a word of inspiration and hope in our time. If you can’t make worship in person in the sanctuary, you can participate in person virtually using Google Meet (link here) or watch via our YouTube livestream (link here).
Following worship this Sunday, September 25, we will be having an ice cream social. TC Scoops will be providing FREE ice cream Sundays. We will also be distributing information about the many exciting opportunities coming up this Fall. There will be information about small groups, along with information about opportunities to serve and fellowship (be together). We’ve set up a Facebook event page (link here) for this too, please mark that you’re “interested” or “going” to help spread the word. There is no need to pre-register or RSVP for this event. There will be plenty of ice cream. Invite a friend or two.
This is a busy weekend with many opportunities to gather and be the church together. I hope you’ll make it a point to attend as you’re able. There’s a lot going on and your presence will make it all the better.
